Cecily strong

  Cecily Legler Strong was born on February 8, 1984. She is an American actor and comedian. Strong is most notable for her work as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2022. Strong is the longest-tenured female castmember during the course of the show's history. Strong was performing in improv in The Second City, Chicago at the time she completed her studies at CalArts. She was then hired by SNL. She currently plays a leading role in the Apple TV+ musical comedy series Schmigadoon! She also produces the show (2021 to present).



 



 Other roles she has played include voice work in The Awesomes (2013-2015), and in supporting roles in films like Ghostbusters, The Meddler and The Female Brain. She was the host of the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2015. Her first book, This Will All End Soon Soon The book was published by Random House in 2021.



 



 She was nominated by Primetime Emmy Awards at the 72nd and 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards as Outstanding Supporting Artist in a Comedy Series for her work on Saturday Night Live.



 



 Childhood and early life



 Strong was born in Springfield Illinois and was raised in Oak Park (an inner-ring suburb of Chicago). She is the daughter of Penelope and William Strong. He was a chief of the Associated Press bureau and also owned his own PR company up to 2013. Penny Legler Strong has extensive experience as a nurse practitioner and has worked in several local hospitals. Strong is the daughter of divorced parents. Strong was captivated by SNL since she was a child. She loved performing sketches with her friend and watching old SNL commercials on VHS. "I have a tape of the most memorable commercials I utilized every day. She stated that Phil Hartman was her idol.
